Here's a great before and after picture of a light cover from a Neff Oven.
The cover was so heavily carbonised the owner thought the bulb had gone. It took some work but we got there.
That's what you get when you let your son cook bacon sarnies during lock down!
On a serious note. When things like this are so thick with burnt grease they can ignite. So keep an eye on them. Oven brands particularly bad for this are: Bosch, Neff, Siemens and Aeg. Where the light cover is right in the middle of the grill. They're also in my opinion the best ovens too so it's just a case of regular maintenance.
